What are the thermal properties of PScoat?

The coating has the PIiP Certificate. Thermal conductivity coefficient λ=0.044W/mK.

(For EPS polystyrene it is on average λ= 0.030-0.045W/mK)

Thermal conductivity coefficient λ, the so-called lambda is the basic parameter that tells about the material's insulation. The lower the value of the λ coefficient (lambda), the less the material conducts heat, and therefore the better it insulates against heat losses. The lower it is, the better its insulating function, i.e. it absorbs less heat.

Is the PScoat coating resistant to weather conditions?

The PScoat coating is resistant to frost, water and sun.

What color is the coating?

The standard color of the coating is white, but it can be colored according to the RAL color chart. It is not recommended to use dark shades that may reduce thermal insulation properties.

What is the recommended layer thickness of PScoat?

The number of layers of PSCoat application and, consequently, the layer thickness depends on the required result and is in the range of 0.5-1 mm

Is PScoat flammable? How does the coating behave in the event of fire? Do harmful substances and gases are released?

The coating has a non-flammability category B, s1 d0 – i.e. it goes out after the source of fire is removed. No smoke is produced. All detailed data can be found in the technical documentation.

How durable is PScoat?

30 years! The durability of the coating was tested in aging chambers for 30 periods: spring, summer, autumn and winter (30 years!). The test showed that the insulation properties of the coating did not change over the given period.

What is PSCoat's resistance to UV rays?

The TSR (Total Solar Reflectance) coefficient in the full spectrum is at the level of 92%.

What can be used to apply PSCoat?

HP, BUILD and ECE coatings should only be applied using airless spraying machines, e.g. GRACO MARK V, VII, X units.

ECB, ECI, ECR, ECF, ECO, EC coatings can also be applied with a roller or brush.

How long does it take to apply a complete system to a standard residential building?

The time depends on the total area of the building, but it can be assumed that it takes 5 days to place the thermal insulation system on the façade (assuming good weather conditions). The result is several times better than the traditional styrofoam insulation system.

Apart from PScoat coatings, are there other products with similar properties available for building facades?

There are 14 types of thermal insulation coatings available for construction and industry, including specialized ones with increased bactericidal effect.

What is the efficiency of the paint when covered with one layer?

Depending on the product (for example, a standard kit for painting thermal insulation coatings on a facade):

  • For HP BASIC B coating (primer) – depending on the absorbency of the substrate: 0.1-0.2 liters per 1 sq m.
  • For the BUILD coating - with a thickness of 0.5 mm, the coating consumption is 0.65 liters per 1 sq m.
  • For the BUILD coating - with a thickness of 1.0 mm, the coating consumption is 1.2 liters per 1 sq m.
  • For the OUTSIDE coating - with a thickness of 0.18 mm, the coating consumption is 0.18 liters per 1 sq m.
  • For the OUTSIDE coating - with a thickness of 0.2 mm, the coating consumption is 0.24 liters per 1 sq m.
